The Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is Paris' largest airport. The airport is comprised of three buildings, the Charles de Gaulle 1 (CDG1), which handles scheduled international flights excluding Air France; the Charles de Gaulle 2 (CDG2), which handles Air France & other airlines with European flights; and Terminal 9 (T9), dealing with Charter flights only.
Airport Trains The airport is connected to the European high-speed train network Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV). The TGV services three Parisian stations - the Gare du Nord, Gare Montparnasse, and the Gare de Lyon. All three stations are primary points in the city where one can find a variety of public transportation options, from taxis, to trains, to buses, to the underground subway system (RER and the Metro). High-speed trains from the Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport SNCF station also offer direct service to Lille and the French Riviera.
The RER suburban regional express trains depart at regular intervals from two different points at the airport. Aerogare (terminal) 2 and the SNCF train station. If you are located at Aerogare 1, you can take the navette (shuttle bus) to the SNCF station. RER B (Roissy Rail) stops at the Gare du Nord, Chatelet, St-Michel and Denfert-Rochereau Metro stations.
Air France Buses Buses run to and from Porte Maillot and the Arc de Triomphe departing every 12 minutes. The trip usually takes approximately35-50 minutes and costs FF60.
Roissybus Buses run to and from the corner of the Rues Scribe and Auber near the Opera Garnier and depart every 15 minutes. Ride usually takes 45-60 minutes and costs FF45.
**Private and Airport Shuttles** Private shuttles to and from both airports are considerably less expensive than taxis, but they often pick up close to ten passengers at a time from different locations, which could take an extended period of time. Therefore, arrange your pick-up time accordingly. The Paris Shuttle runs to and from both airports at FF150 per single passenger, FF85 per person two or more (TEL. 01 43 90 91 91). The Airport Shuttle runs to and from both airports at FF120 per single passenger, FF89 per person two or more (TEL. 01 45 38 55 72).
